Ireland in Montana: The Fenian Brotherhood
A Lecture by Gary Forney.
This presentation will look at the history of what was the first, and largest, fraternal organization established in Alder Gulch. This Irish heritage group organized popular dances, founded the first library, and just may have played a role in the invasion of Canada.
Gary Forney is a retired college administrator and local historian. He has been a full-time resident of the Ennis area since 1999, and since then has authored four books, written numerous articles, and made many presentations on the early territorial period of Montana.
Please note this event is held in the beautifully restored cabin of Frank Bird Linderman; on the grounds of the historic Robber’s Roost just North of Laurin, MT.
